Our history

Ever since the company’s foundation as a one-man-business until the formation of HGB GmbH and the establishment of the present crew, two things have never changed: the appreciation of each employee’s work and the mutual respect within the team.

The responsibility each employee has for the final product is reflected in a high level of identification of the workers with the produced parts. This is observable in the outstanding quality of the final product.

2025

Axel Kruse Appointed Managing Director of LETHE Exterior Doors GmbH

The LETHE Group has appointed Axel Kruse as Managing Director of LETHE Exterior Doors GmbH. Axel Kruse has been closely associated with the company for many years. Since the Group acquired its stake in the company in 2015, he has played a key role in shaping its development. As former Technical Manager of LETHE GmbH, he took over responsibility for the Bremen site and, as Branch Manager, successfully developed LETHE Exterior Doors GmbH into a specialist provider of complex exterior door systems for the megayacht industry.

With his many years of experience, extensive industry expertise, and strong commitment, Axel Kruse now assumes additional responsibility as a member of the company's management. His appointment reflects continuity and underscores the LETHE Group's successful growth trajectory and strategic development. We warmly congratulate Axel Kruse on his new role and wish him continued success in his position as Managing Director.

2018

In August 2018, LETHE Exterior Doors GmbH relocated to a new, larger office facility with an adjoining production hall in Bremen-Nord. The move was a direct result of the company's continuous growth and, at the same time, laid the foundation for its future expansion. The additional space significantly improved working conditions for employees while enabling a targeted increase in production capacity. The new location marked an important milestone in the successful development of LETHE Exterior Doors GmbH.

2015

Integration into the LETHE Group

A significant milestone in the company's history was the integration of HGB GmbH into the LETHE Group in January 2015, an internationally established supplier to the maritime industry. This merger enabled the company to further strengthen and expand its existing expertise, experience, and organizational capabilities.

The entire workforce was retained throughout the integration, ensuring the preservation of valuable know-how and many years of industry experience. Under the continued leadership of Jörg Blumentritt, the management team was further strengthened with the appointment of Thorsten David as Managing Director responsible for Sales and Armin Brummerloh as Managing Director responsible for Finance.

As part of the integration, the company was renamed LETHE Exterior Doors GmbH. The new corporate structure created a solid foundation for further expanding the company's market position and sustaining its successful growth in the field of maritime door systems.

2011

At the beginning of 2011, Heinrich Göttsch-Büch handed over the management of HGB GmbH to Jörg Blumentritt.

Since then, Jörg Blumentritt has served as the company's sole Managing Director and has been responsible for its continued development.

2008

Business continued to grow steadily. To meet increasing customer demand and ensure that projects could continue to be completed on time and to the highest quality standards, the company's production capacity was expanded through the construction of a second facility. In addition, the team was strengthened by hiring additional highly qualified skilled professionals.

With the move into its own business premises at Steller Heide 23 in the Schwanewede-Neuenkirchen industrial park, HGB laid the foundation for further growth. At the same time, the company expanded its workforce by hiring five new employees for the manufacturing department.

During this period, HGB successfully completed its first major projects as a direct supplier to the Lürssen Group. Driven by increasing customer demand, the company established itself as a specialist in high-quality superyacht equipment and accessories. Its product portfolio—continuously expanded over time—includes sliding and hinged doors, windbreakers, hatches, and a wide range of custom-engineered solutions.

With courage, craftsmanship, and entrepreneurial vision, Heinrich Göttsch-Büch laid the foundation for the company's success story by establishing HGB Industrieservice & Metal Design at its original location on Rader Heide 10.

As a one-man business, he quickly earned a reputation for his versatility and uncompromising commitment to quality. Word of his reliable work spread rapidly, and his customer base grew steadily. The company's services ranged from the installation of industrial doors and custom-engineered solutions for sports clubs to stair railings, office furniture, and mobile sales trailers. Even in its early years, HGB designed and manufactured bespoke bicycle racks tailored to individual customer requirements. Every project was completed with precision, creativity, and a passion for craftsmanship—values that continue to define the company to this day.
